کی پہچان اس طرح کی جا سکتی ہے کہ اس میں اردو فقرات کے آخر میں ‘تھا ،تھی ،تھے، ا، ی ،ے ،وغیرہ آتا ہے
Use
Past indefinite tense is used to tell about an action that occurred in the past. It also describes habits of the past.
استعمال اور مثالیں
اس زمانہ کا استعمال ایسے کاموں کا ذکر کرنے کیلئے ہوتا ہے جو ماضی میں ہوئے ہوں یا کوئی ماضی کی عادت ہو۔
مثلا:میں نے خط لکھا،اس نے نظم پڑھی،ہم نے پرند ے دیکھے۔

Form Of Verb?
Verb-2nd is used in simple sentences.Verb-1st is used in negative and interrogative sentences.
سادہ فقرات میں ورب کی دوسری جبکہ منفی اور سوالیہ فقرات میں پہلی ورب کی پہلی فارم کا استعمال کیا جاتا ہے
Simple Sentences/ سادہ فقرات بنانے کا طریقہ
Subject + Verb-2nd + object
مفعول فعل امدادی فعل فاعل
| Sobia plucked a flower. | ثوبیہ نے پھول تو ڑا۔ |
| He told a lie. | اس نے جھو ٹ بو لا۔ |
| You wasted your time. | تم نے اپنا وقت ذائع کیا۔ |
Negative Sentences/ منفی فقرات بنانے کا طریقہ
Subject + did not + verb-1st + Object
You must have noticed that with a little change of Not after helping verb “did” we can change a simple sentence into a negative sentence in past indefinite tense.
| He did not insult me. | اس نے میری بے عزتی نہیں کی۔ |
| We did not abuse Ali. | ہم نے علی کو گا لی نہیں دی۔ |
| He did not jump into the river. | اس نے در یا میں چھلانگ نہیں لگائ۔ |
Interrogative Sentences/ سوالیہ فقرات بنانے کا طریقہ
Did + Subject + Verb-1st + Object
Just by adding the helping verb “did” at the beginning of the sentence, interrogative sentences are made in the past indefinite tense.
| Did he fail in the examination? | کیا وہ امتحان میں فیل ہو گیا ہے؟ |
| Did it rain Yesterday? | کیا کل با ر ش ہو ئ؟ |
| Did you help the beggar? | کیا تم نے فقیر کی مد د کی؟ |
| Why did you pluck the flowers? | تم نے پھو ل کیوں تو ڑے؟ |
