Use Of Has To Have

In our routine life, we don’t always work willingly. Sometimes, a particular action is our compulsion, obligation, or wish that we can’t deny.

Take this situation as an example

Most of the time, kids don’t want to go to school but they still go there. Just because it’s their compulsion.

In our day-to-day life, we have a lot of actions that we don’t perform willingly. These actions are obligations, necessities, or compulsions. To express those actions in English using sentences, we use Has to, Have to.

Present Tense (کرنا ہے /کرنا پڑتا ہے)

When an action is your compulsion, obligation, or necessity in present.

Simple Sentences

Has To

He, She, It, Singular Subject

Have To

I, We, You, They, Plural Subject

She has to get up early.

اسے جلدی اٹھناہے/ پڑتا ہے۔

He has to go.

اسے جانا ہے/پڑتا ہے۔

Ayesha has to cook a meal.

عائشہ کو کھانا پکانا پڑتا ہے۔

Ahmad has to do homework.

احمد کو ہوم ورک کرنا ہے/کرنا پڑتا ہے۔

I have to get up early.

مجھے جلدی اٹھنا ہے/پڑتا ہے

We have to go.

ہمیں جانا ہے/پڑتا ہے

They have to cook a meal.

انہیں کھانا پکانا پڑتا ہے۔

 Students have to do homework.

طلباء کو ہوم ورک کرنا ہے/کرنا پڑتا ہے۔

Negative Sentences

In negative sentences Has to and Have to are replaced with does not have to and do not have to, respectively.

Does Not Have To

He, She, It, Singular Subject

Do Not Have To

I, We, You, They, Plural Subject

She does not have to get up early.

اسے جلدی نہیں اٹھناہے/ پڑتا ہے۔

He does not have to go.

اسے نہیں جانا ہے/پڑتا ہے۔

Ayesha does not have to cook meals.

عائشہ کو کھانا نہیں پکانا پڑتا ۔

Ahmad does not have to do homework.

احمد کو ہوم نہیں  ورک کرنا /کرنا پڑتا ۔

I don’t have to get up early.

مجھے جلدی نہیں اٹھنا ہے/پڑتا ہے

We don’t have to go.

ہمیں نہیں جانا ہے/پڑتا ہے

They don’t have to cook meals.

انہیں نہیں کھانا پکانا پڑتا ہے۔

 Students don’t have to do homework.

طلباء کو ہوم ورک نہیں کرنا ہے/کرنا پڑتا ہے۔

Interrogative Sentences

In interrogative sentences, has and have to are replaced with does have and do have to, respectively.

Does Have To

He, She, It, Singular Subject

Do Have To

I, We, You, They, Plural Subject

Does she have to get up early?

کیا اسے جلدی اٹھناہے/ پڑتا ہے۔

does He have to go?

کیا اسے جانا ہے/پڑتا ہے۔

does Ahmad have to do homework?

کیا احمد کو ہوم ورک کرنا ہے/کرنا پڑتا ہے۔

کیا مجھے جلدی اٹھنا ہے/پڑتا ہے

Do we have to go?

کیاہمیں جانا ہے/پڑتا ہے

Do they have to cook a meal?

کیا انہیں کھانا پکانا پڑتا ہے۔
